Connection will work over nmea2000 network, Or if you dont have a network, connect them directly with 2 wires. Wireless (BLE) connectivity is also possible.
Final version will be CNC or injection molded. It will come with a silicone cover. It will feature physical buttons with tactile feedback and a sun readable lcd. The housing will be interchangeable with Raymarine/simrad/B&G.contro

How will the Head Unit be powered if used only in Wireless BLE mode?

By 12V /24V from your boat or via USB. You may choose, both are possible.
You don't need a NMEA2000 network. A simple 2 core shieled wire will work as well.
